“We are a married couple buying a weekend home in the Berkshires. We hired NEHI to inspect. Mike, our inspector, was a breath of professional fresh air in an otherwise often murky process. Mike was easy to communicate with and instantly responsive in the weeks after we booked and leading up to the inspection (including agreeing to a late postponement with a great attitude). He was clear about his services and prices and approach.  He arrived right on time and got right to work. What we really, really appreciated was that he took the time to explain every observed defect or issue to us carefully and without a note of condescension toward us, especially notably not toward my spouse. She remarked afterword how refreshing it was not to be patronized as a woman by a male professional.  He also took time to explain larger or longer term concerns about systems that were not defective but had age on them. He was friendly in every way, appeared quite thorough and careful in his work, perfectly cordial with the agents present while making it clear he worked for us, not them, and we never felt rushed or talked down to or talked over or overwhelmed with technical details once. Then the report was in our email the next day, a Saturday.  Late Saturday night we sent him a request to make a small addition of something we had discussed but that wasn’t mentioned.  He returned it, amended, on Sunday morning at 8am, with an apology for the oversight.
